My phone rings.
At midnight.
What the h***?
I answer it without looking.
“Hello?” I say sleepily.
“Oh d***, sorry, did I wake you up?” a familiar voice asks.
My eyes pop open. “Joshua!?”
I can hear the smile in his voice, “Yeah. How’d you guess? My oh-so-sexy voice?”
I feel my face heat up. “Uhmm… sure?”
He laughs. “You know I’m right.”
I roll my eyes. “Yeah… I know.”
“So are you excited for tomorrow?” he asked.
I was. He was moving here. Permanently.
“Yeah.” I said.
“Well guess what.” he said.
“What?”
“You should get read and come over. We could watch nightmare on elm street.”
I bite my lip. “But you wont be here ‘till to-”
“Morrow? No we came early.”
I jumped up. “Oh!”
“Yep!” he said.
“But… isn’t that movie extremely scary?”
“Yes. Exactly why you need to come over and watch it.”
I sighed. “Okay. See you in a bit.”
“Awesome.” and he hung up.
I got ready and it took me a while to find the house.
He walked outside before I made it all the way to the door.
“Jeez… that took forever.” he said.
I smiled. “Shut up.”
He grinned. “C’mon in.”
He sat down on the couch. I sat on the other side.
He looked at me and raised a brow. “I don’t bite.”
“I know…” I said.
He rolled his eyes. “Shall we watch the movie now?”
I just nod.
After a while, I was feeling a bit paranoid.
“Hey.” he said softly.
I peek over at him. “Yeah?”
“You look scared.” he frowns.
“Yeah…” I say quietly.
He smiles. “It’s okay. Come here.”
I hesitated.
“Get your a** over here!” he laughs.
I scoot over and he pulls me real close.
“Hey… Leah?” he whispers.
I look at him.
“Remember that day during summer vacation when you told me you really really liked me?”
I nodded.
“Do you remember the privilege you gave me?” he pulled me closer, holding me tightly, as if I was gonna run away.
I got confused. I shook my head.
He put his face up to mine slowly. “Let me remind you..?
He gets very close to my lips, then stops. I know he’s waiting for me to close the distance.
I bite my lip.
He smiles. “Don’t be scared.”
“I feel like we should but, something’s telling me not to.”
Not expecting it he comes in and kisses me softly.
I stand up quickly, biting my lip again.
“You okay?” he asks, getting up and putting his hands on my waist. I say nothing. He turns me around slowly and I look into his eyes.
“it’s all fine Rene. Don’t worry about it. I’m acting with my feelings not my thoughts.”
I say. “Maybe you’re right Joshua…”
“Well Rene, I won’t make you do anything you don’t wanna do.”
I smile. “Well does this tell you if I do or not?”
I go in for a kiss. It’s so gentle I got weak in his arms. He holds onto me tightly but gently.
He starts to rub my back as we kiss and he tries to sneak his tongue in. I let him. We’re making out. I have my fingers in his hair but I’m feeling weaker every second. My knees start to get wobbly. He laid me on the couch and pulls off.
“Are you okay Rene?”
“I’m fine.” I say breathlessly.
He smiles. “Keep going?”
I nod and he continues, even better than before.
He starts kissing my neck. Then he goes slowly back to my lips and kisses me softly.
He goes back to my neck and kisses it tenderly. He licks it slowly and then bites. I gasp.
“Shh. It’s okay.” he whispers in my ear.
He brushes his lips up my neck and jawbone back to my lips and we’re instantly making out again.
20 minutes later we finally broke away. He laid on his side and patted the left over space in front of him. I laid against him and he pressed play. He was playing with a strand of hair at the nape of my neck. I stole the remote and paused it.
“Joshua?”
“Yes?”
I turned around, kissed him quickly, and laid back down. It was quiet for a moment. He started playing with my hair again. I pressed play. Eventually after the movie I fell asleep in his arms. The next morning I woke up in my own bed with a note on my stomach.
I lifted it up. It read:
Rene,
That was amazing…
And to think it was actually your first kiss! ;)

Then I looked down and my face heated. I was wearing my pjs. I looked at the note again.
