A Day at the Beach

I took off my half broken slippers and set them next to my blue and white striped towel which lay under the hot sun. I squirted a dollop of the cold sun cream onto my soft palms and applied it all over my body. I walked over to the water which glistened in the sun. I could sense the cold breeze around the water. My feet brushed across the ginger brown sand as I headed for the crystal clear water. The waves rippled and broke on my toes, I felt my feet sink into the icy water. I took a sniff of the salty air around me and closed my eyes. I felt the bright, bisque sun against my pale cheeks. Everything was so calm and at peace, and so was I; for the first time in a long time. Then, I took a deep breath, and leaped in.

For this set piece, I worked on imagery and personification. One thing that I liked about this piece is that I was able to make it easier for people to visualize and help the story come to life.
