1,999 songs.
1,999 words that mean nothing.
1,999 words that mean everything.
1 song left to fill the empty spot.
An iPod can only hold so many songs.
A choice no one cares about but me.
A choice that won’t change the world.
But I am the one telling the story, and to me it matters an awful lot.
In about 3 minutes, someone will call. Or text. Or email. Or tell me to get a move on with my life and start my freaking homework already. Or something.
Timeslot’s getting smaller!
Ding!
Yup, there’s the text. Right on time.
But it doesn’t stop dinging…
And I’m in the bed, under the covers, without an iPod. The loudest silence I’ve ever heard fills my head.
Today is the day I start washing cars. Today is the day I start saving. Maybe I’ll have enough for an iPod by September. Or not.
