The King and His Sock

A king of a powerful kingdom can’t find his sock. Guards! Search the kingdom for my sock and don’t return until it’s been searched entirely! They find nothing. The king’s face boils. Why, why, why can’t they find a simple sock? Then, as he stands, something drops off his robe: the lost sock.
