One Dozen Steps
Here is a part from the story:
Step one. I won’t get to see Jason today. Step two. I leave this Friday. Step three. I won’t be seeing him again. My last memory of him would be hurtful green eyes and a frown on his face. I wanted his smile, the one I couldn’t resist. Step four and five was reliving Monday, dancing in the moonlight and eating under the stars in the middle of the ocean. Step six brought a picture of Sean. Step seven. Caroline and Sean were kissing. Step eight. Caroline wasn’t kissing Sean. I was. His arms were wrapped around me pulling me closer. His smile got the butterflies in my stomach to flutter their wings. He leaned closer. The butterflies were having no trouble flying. His hands became entwined in my hair. Our lips touched Step nine, ten, eleven, twelve. I realized that if I was going to get my first kiss, the only person it’d be coming from would be Sean…
