From a very young age I knew that I could hear other people's thoughts, but only when I come into physical contact with them. My father had told me that it was a gift from the gods that had been given to my family after the Awakening.
Of course that was before my father had been murdered by a group of men that had been trying to rob a tavern. From that day on I had vowed that I would become a Royal Protector to follow in my father's footsteps and take my revenge on any ruffian that tried to commit a crime on my watch.
