one morning

It was three in the morning. the dog had woken up and was hollowing to go out. I heaved myself from bed and crawled up the stairs from the basement. the dog's big eye's pleaded with me to open the door on the cage. I did so. she ran to the door and waited for me to get her leash. she was an excitable
little dog and could not be trusted to be out with out the leash. The leash was old and frayed. I let the dog out then laid on the couch. I woke to incessant barking. as I peered out the window I saw the dog yapping and the leash was stretched as far as it would allow. the animal strained at its leash till it snapped and charged off down the street. I sprinted out of the front door and called the dogs name several times, until she stopped and looked at me. I picked her up and carried her inside. when I set her down the dog walked over to her cage and layed down. I was annoyed with it so I just went straight back to bed.
