"Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain."

-Monica Parker

"Our tale begins....with the birth of a child." She said, "A child, like

all the rest. A child born into a world of madness and pain and sorrow. He was

the first of four children that came after him. His eyes were as blue as the

waves of the ocean, and his hair as golden as the sun's brilliant rays which

struggled so dearly each and every day to bring light to our dying world."

She paused, and closed her eyes for a moment, then she slowly raised her hand

as she reopened her eyes, allowing them to be consumed by the fire. I thought

she would get hurt, but then I saw that she had taken hold of the fire, and was

bringing it up high, then, just as it was about to touch the flowers of the

tree above her, she released it, and it went floating into the air,

"That," she said, "Is what life was like for these children.....

They were the purest of creatures, children of nature, children of God, and yet

surrounded by fire, crying out desperately as so many others before them did.

The world they lived in was like this fire, beautiful when looked at through

the eyes of the beholder, yet dangers when tended to improperly. That was what

their world was, but, unlike the children before them, that cried out for their

savior to someday come......their prayers were answered."

The author's comments:
This is a preview to my first series. The first book I have ever written was just recently published, called Secrets of the Forbidden Kingdom, and this pretty much sums up how the story came about. I am only fifteen years old, and I started writing this book when I was twelve, having published it at fourteen. Tell me what you think and feel free to check out my website at www.chuelsiadecarvalho.com for information. Thanks!
