Inpired by Love on the Brain MAG
I created this makeup look with inspiration from Love on the Brain by Rihanna. This look was part of a project for my 10th grade English class, and I wrote the following poem to go along with it:
January 20th.
We wore black on this day, to stand up against hate.
We wore black on this day, to stand out against the plaid.
We wore black on this day, to stand up for those who couldn’t.
It was a good feeling, standing up to him.
It was a good feeling, as though we were doing something to help the greater good.
It was so good of a feeling, we were singing at the top of our lungs.
I watched as my beloved friends dance around the window
The tree outside just waking up, early in the morning
I watched as we danced and sang together.
We hit our knees when she began to sing,
Our favorite song by our favorite person
Her words flowed out of the speakers
Soaking up all the hatred,
And we dropped to our knees to sing along.
-The day we sang out loud-
