They both had a few troubles... :) all ridiculous troubles of course, but then I guess  they are the ones that inspire paintings. You pretty much got it right, but lets just say he was a bit of a reluctant saviour... thanks for commenting! I'll put up some more of my work and see what the world makes of it :)

wow, this is so deep. what is the meaning behind this? it looks like to me that the girl is troubles & the boy is her savior, but that's just my interpretation..
