I was inspired to create this piece after lying on the grass on a breezy afternoon. I hoped to capture a sense of total awareness and entrancement with one’s surroundings, the sense of a heightened connection with nature. The idea for the shoreline scene initially came about by accident, as I experimented with the background, but ultimately helped support the message of the piece. The drawing is in charcoal measuring 18 x 24 inches.
