This summer, prepare for your college future with exciting and challenging summer programs for high school students at Boston University Summer Term. With multiple programs to choose from, you can earn college credit, discover new subject areas, perform cutting-edge research in university labs, or immerse yourself in hands-on learning. You will have the opportunity to push yourself academically while experiencing college life, making friends with fellow students, and engaging in social activities around Boston.
BU Summer Term offers the following proram for high school students:
High School Honors: Motivated students currently in their sophomore or junior year enroll in BU undergraduate courses, earning up to 8 college credits in six weeks. Residential or commuter. On campus or online.
Academic Immersion (AIM): Current sophomores and juniors focus intensively on one subject over the course of three weeks, combining classroom work with experiential learning activities. Topics for 2018: Introduction to Experimental Psychology and Introduction to Medicine. Residential only.
RISE Internship/Practicum: The Research in Science & Engineering (RISE) program is celebrating its 40th anniversary this summer! If you are passionate about the sciences and entering your senior year of high school, we invite you to apply. Spend six weeks at BU conducting university laboratory research with some of the nation's brightest scientific minds--and advance your knowledge and skills in the sciences. Residential or commuter. Please note that international students are not eligible for the RISE program.
Summer Challenge: In this two-week program, current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors select two non-credit BU seminars that include lectures, discussions, project-based assignments, and field trips. Residential only.
Summer Preview: Current eighth and ninth graders spend one week studying one subject of interest. Small class sizes ensure individual attention. One Week. Residential or commuter.
