About The Jewish Museum: SummerArts
Now in its eighth successful year, SummerArts at The Jewish Museum is an exceptional six-week summer camp for emerging high school artists interested in exploring art and Jewish identity in a creative atmosphere.
SummerArts provides an intimate, in-depth studio art experience in which students work closely with celebrated artists to learn innovative approaches to mixed media, painting, sculpture, videography and ceremonial arts. In conjunction with art classes, students spend time visiting artists’ studios, exploring NYC’s great cultural institutions and enjoying activities with students from a variety of Jewish backgrounds.
The camp culminates in an exhibition of students’ work, which they curate themselves. This exhibition will be on view at The Jewish Museum and open to the public. Discover for yourself the inspiration of creating art in one of the city’s most acclaimed art institutions.
