Design Immersion Days at SCI-Arc
DEADLINE EXTENSION: Seats are filling quickly! Act fast or you'll miss out on one of the greatest design experiences of your life!
Design Immersion Days (DID) is an immersive four-week summer program that introduces high school students to design and architecture. It is intended to inspire curiosity about the world of design, introduce basic design knowledge and critical thinking skills, and familiarize students with the expansive architecture and design culture of Los Angeles.
What draws teens to your program?
Teens attend DID because they are curious about design, whether it be photography, graphic design, drawing, or architecture. Students want to acquire new skills to improve their craft.
What type of teen attends your program?
Creative, curious, and hardworking teens attend DID.
Where do your participants come from?
Most of the participants are from Los Angeles County, but we have students from all over the United States and world participate.
What's a typical day like?
No day is the same as the previous. Class assignments range from learning software to making and building. One day teens will be in class, another day they will be exploring a part of Los Angeles.
What should participants expect to learn or take away from your program?
Participants will have a different outlook on the world around them. They will learn design concepts, techniques, and strategies necessary to compose a successful design portfolio.
