St. Vincent College: Challenge Program
The Challenge Program is an academic and theme based summer camp for students rising from fifth grade through twelfth grade to participate in fun, enriched classes and elective activities. Operated by the Education Department, Saint Vincent College has been hosting the Challenge Program since 1982. This year the Challenge Program opens its doors to more grade levels, more students, and more themes. Instead of one week with one theme, the Challenge Program has two themes and two weeks in July. The overnight summer camp is for students in grades 5-7 and grades 8-12; "The District" themed courses and activities will be held July 7-12 and the following week, July 14-19, will be conquered by "Pirates Adventure." Select one week or attend both for double the fun. Students in the overnight program choose three themed courses. At "The District" take a course in App Creation, Wilderness Survival, Open Pit and Grilling Cuisine, History of Cultural Fashions, World Conflicts, or Psychology. If you are intrigued by daring sea expeditions, then check out the courses for "Pirates Adventure," where you can learn about Marine Biology, Cartography and Technological Coastal Mapping, Tidal and Lunar Forces, Sunken Treasures, Luau Cuisine, and creating audio and visual oceanic effects. Adventurers beware and join us if you dare, visit www.stvincentchallenge.org.
