"The only escape from the miseries of life are music and cats..." - Albert Scheitzer

I get mad and sad, when told I am wrong.
Maybe I’ll lose myself in a book,
By a beautiful, babbling brook.
But, I’ll go back and want to prove I’m strong.
Or I’ll just ignore them and sing a song
But if I do I’ll want to take a look.
Upset as I am, not to be mistook.
Back at the house, the chimes all go, ding-dong.
My parents waiting for me to come home
I’m so happy, thought as my hair I comb.
From my facade, I steal a small smile
For now I will not be easily ril’d.
My smile evaporates fast like foam.
Soon you will never see me with a tome.

I wrote this as an assignment for school. But, I ended up liking it more than I thought I would so I figured "What the heck? It can't hurt me."
