Not Ugly
Darling, please don't tell yourself you aren’t pretty,
whether you’re a boy or a girl.
Stop picking up that red marker and
circling what you think are flaws.
Pick up some cans of paint and mix them,
Pour them all over you, all new bright colors and
watch them cover all of your beautiful body.
Look in the mirror while you brush your teeth
And don’t feel ashamed of your acne or
your frowned lips in the moment;
For you can’t see yourself everytime you smile and
Every time you laugh
Because god damn, are you beautiful at night
When you sleep and you can't see your resting eyes
At peace and calm, not a single care about your face or body.
