As I enter the museum, shivers like ice rush down my spine.
I hear the T-rex roar from the lobby.
Kids dash for dinosaurs—and see
a herbasaurs lies lifelessly on the dusty ground.

Spectators watch as
razor sharp teeth, sharp as diamonds, rip flesh.
Kids fear the T-rex’s roar.
Bones crunch, crack, and crumble within the T-rex’s mouth.

Bones crunch, crack, and crumble, sounding so real.
The blood and meat drip and dangle.
Kids believe they are running with the dinosaurs,
scared and afraid.

As the destructive life of the dinosaurs fade away,
so does the dream of running with the dinosaurs.
Kids’ imaginations fade,
Shivers like ice rush down my spine once more as we leave the museum.
