Dead Man

One ordinary day in July
The family left and said goodbye
I walked to Gate Way like any other
To care for the dog of my boyfriend's brother

As I pulled up around three or four
I peered over at the neighbor's door
And there I saw Mr spears,
Lying on the cement with many years

“He is a dead man,” in horror, I scream.
Thinking there is a killer on the loose, I scheme
To run inside and lock the doors
And let the tears fall to the floors

I imagine the crime in the streets
With a murderer, he mistreats
I dial 911 confused and frightened
They rush a morgue car, curtains shut and tightened

Imagine the blood stains in the driveway feet from my car
In the presence of a killer not very far
I spy the police and learn it was a heart attack
The life of the man no one could bring back.
