I know that it's happened, I know you too well.

The alter ego you've been hiding came out after you fell.

I know what to look for, I'm watching for the signs.

In your eyes I can see that your screaming at the world you left behind.

So much potential, so much intelligence,

and where it went I just cant find.

After all of these years and insanity circling

it seems I'm the only one who's kept their mind.

I'm sitting back and watching you fall,

even though I know I'll regret it later,

but if I saved you I would have been the enabler.

Between a rock and a hard place, I'm right in the mess.

Time goes on, but stops for me when handling both of our stress.

Believe me this once if you've never believed me before--

I wish I had the answers, a cure, and the paths to so much more.

When I'm burying you, tucking you in goodnight and setting your stone,

it'll all flood in and present itself clear, boast, and eat away your bones.

I wrote this poem about my sister's drug abuse, her conflicts with the police, and how her actions affected me as the younger sister.
