when
it gets to be too much
i want to be
a constellation,
a zodiac
(may through june)
eternally immortalized
as a bird,
whose wings
mocked the
gods
who created it,
whose wings were meant
to be better than good,
made of stars
they were meant to rise,
they were meant to shower the mortals
with light
whose wings reached boston and tokyo
and sparkled with bright white stars
and were made of deep
indigo down
eternally immortalized
for meant to be and mediocrity.
