the burning Flame of the candle,
it’s red hot Illuminating the room,
but it’s just simply there.
its sole purpose is for Appearance,
no need to be Included,
no need to ask them Too.
all they need to do, is Sit between the two and Shine.
make them look Good,
Look Fancy, Elegant, Beautiful.
but why was it Invited to join?
feeling some Hope,
that tonight…
they will light all of the wax, all of the candle
then it remembers,
it is not good Enough to be Included.
So it sits in the Middle and Listens.

so pretty, has such a nice meaning hidden under the words. keep writing.
For homework in my Creative Writing class, we each chose a picture, and we wrote a peom about it. I chose a candle. The candle has a symbolic meaning to me, a meaning of being a third wheel. Third wheeling is something I am quite good at. Always have been. So I decided to express this in my piece.
