forest
running;
running to catch what you came here for.
also;
to run from what’s been chasing you.
overthinking will get you lost.
being lost here is commonplace,
many who come to the forest don’t make it out on their own.
running;
passing through tree limbs like outstretched hands,
trying to hinder you from going where you need to go.
dense tangles of branches and leaves
make it dark,
impossible to navigate.
occasionally, komorebi.
light filtering brilliantly through the trees
giving you hope of finding your way out.
the light subsides,
leaving you once again lost,
on your own to keep running in the dark.
