Looking Back on the Time Gone By

Looking back on the months gone by
As a new year starts and an old one ends
we reflect upon what brought the joy.
and think of our loved ones and friends
Recalling the happy times
Remebering how they brought joy into our lives
we ponder who really counts
as a fresh new year arrives
we spend minutes to hours
then hours to days
the investment of time
provides wisdom in many ways
As I veer toward a new year start
I feel as if I started a new piece of art
even though the past times slip away
I am still glad its new years day
