Be something, I know it can be hard but you have to go though it to get past it -Alexa_l. (Teen Ink)

This is the story
The story of a childhood, full of broken dreams
When she was a child
All she did was smile
Her teeth crooked
Her head in the sky
And then one day, while wondering alone
She was hit
Hard
With a single blow
Her mind went racing
Sending her heart chasing the pieces knocked away
She was afraid
Afraid to tell her aunt, who warned her about walking alone
Afraid of the ruffian with the fists of stone and eyes of ice
Afraid to face the bruises left buried into her skin
Afraid to look the over bearer in the eye
Afraid to use the wrong words and be left in the road
Like a bird's small frail body after crushed by the larger predator
Without a sense of remorse the predator will leave unhurt
Without a sense of guilt the predator will attack another bird once again
She was 8 years old
This was the start of the war of depression
The spark of the battle of anxiety
Of self esteem
Sanity
Of confidence
This was the story of the childhood of broken dreams

Although none of this happened to me, I have been and am being bullied and I'm trying to pretend that I haven't and it isn't happening right now but the reality is, it is and our words and voices are so strong. We have to learn how to use them and what we mean by our words.
