Struggling through a sea of crumpled white bedsheets,
hazy with insomnia,
I stumble to the window
to seek freedom and comfort
from under a quilt of dewy stars.
I stand alone in the quiet,
the moon my protector.
Half swaddled in dreams,
peering down upon the wide stretch of darkness,
mind unfolding like an abyss.
I hope for the sun to come quickly,
else I be trapped in this void.
I sink under white waves.

The author's comments:
There have been nights where I have experienced insomnia, and the topic seemed very appealing to get figuratively lost in. I just had to write about it.
