Creativity takes courage. ~Matisse

We always say, us humans we,
“If these walls could talk...”
But what if the walls,
are listening then,
and rolling their eyes we can't see.

What if they're quietly,
all laughing away,
at our foolish conjectures,
of objects inanimate,
all the while we don't hear or see.

What if they're patiently,
all biding their time,
unwilling to interrupt,
the busy lives we lead,
and we just go on, unable to see.

What if they're waiting,
for someone like me,
what if they're just begging,
and whispering strangely,
for someone to please hear or see.

What if they watching,
as we all grow up,
loving and caring for us,
but we just walk by,
unaware of their stares we can't see.

What if they miss we,
all of us who go,
and leave them behind,
but they tell stories,
of us foolish humans who can't see.

The author's comments:
I love looking at the world from a different view, wondering how people view me.
What I want people to get out of this poem is that things aren't always as they seem, and to try and look at the world a little differently.

"Why try to fit in when you were born to stand out?"

This poem is intelligent and original. I love looking at things differently and viewing the world as a place full of mysteries and secrets and I think this poem embodies that.
