Faceless,
Voiceless.
Dark, deep and empty she stares into her life.
Alone in her battle with the sharp end of the knife.
From all her pain, this is her only pleasure.
The scars are the only thing left to measure.
The sharp sting to remind her she's alive.
The clean cut is where her only emotion thrives.
Another day, another hidden scar.
Another day, another lost wish upon a shooting star.

The author's comments:
I wrote this because I had so many friends that have struggled with self-harm and depression. I wanted to show that while I may not have gone through it, I understand their pain.
To ALL who have depression and feel alone: you're not. People care. And those close to you, break inside when they watch you go through it. You're all beautiful and have every reason to smile!
