"You must act as a man and not as an instrument of another's will." --J. Glen Gray

Fire ate my bones today,
and sucked the marrow clean.

Pupil swallowed iris
till color thinned like April ice.

So let blue swarm cerebrum
and yellow sizzle knees

till all I'm left
are eyes and arteries.

Definitely one of the better poems on this site. The images were interesting--was the syntax done on purpose? It intrigued me. My one complaint is the third stanza; I understand the flow, but it sounds a tad awkward. Otherwise...I likey. I likey lots.

Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments which take your breath away.

You are only as strong as your weakest link.

Wow, I love the description in this poem! The last line was especially lovely and chilling.
