Show me how,
a piece of paper,
makes us a country.
Show me how,
a simple law,
is more important,
than a population.
Show me how,
My love of America,
Is tested by,
my need for justification.
Show me how,
We proclaim, "Unjust!"
"Traitor!"
"Unpatriotic!"
And we destroy a nation,
by a single stroke of the pen.

This was something I wrote about the horrible way politicians and Americans say all this stuff about changing the world, being patriotic, improving society... and yet can sit back and look the other way while the world is destroyed.
