Lost Wings

As his tears fell
He knew he was damned to hell
He has risked it all, just for her
Life without her such a blur
His love for her had cost his wings
But for him, her heart no longer sings
A love so forbidden
Can never stay hidden
So soon people knew
And his punishment grew
What a waste
He has learned betrayals metallic taste
And even though her love is gone
His punishment he must now face
