Fake smiles and a pair of hollow eyes.
Your white collared shirt reflects.
Reflects your knowledge of the pain you’ve caused?
No it can’t be that.
Looks to me like that crisp white collar reflects only the knowledge
Of the riches used to buy the expensive thread.
Thread like the ties of the family we used to be.
Your smile is fake and pretends that nothing is wrong.
Wrong like neglect, ignorance, and bad timing.
My smile is tight and hopeful.
Hopeful that you will realize the destruction you cause only tears us apart.
Apart like the miles that separate us and are never closed with a call.
Only a letter you didn’t even sign.
A sign like this 25 line wake up call that I hope works.
I’m bending down, leveling myself with you,
My shoulder gently pressed into that crisp white shirt,
Careful.
Careful not to wrinkle it.
Careful not to make my pain be seen.
Seen because it’s just one picture.
The camera clicked,
I stood up straight again,
And walked away.
Away from your unknowing bliss.
Bliss like the hope you will follow.

I can really understand where you're coming from there. I'm someone who really has a rein on their emotions. Poetry is my emotional vent. Everything I'm feeling goes into my poetry. When I finally get up the courage to share my work, it's such a relief when they get it, or they at least appreciate it.

I really like this. It's really cool how much detail you put into it. I can't relate to this directly, but there are parts that are definitely close. Keep up the good work.
