I'm holding a garage sale
My heart, my soul, and my life
All yours for the taking
My heart?
It's a vase that's shattered in pieces
Every time I try and put it together
My efforts prove to be futile
For it never fails to fall to the floor once more
I'll sell it to you
When you are willing to realize
That perfect hearts don't exist
My soul
It's a shawl woven with the finest threads
In sunshine it reflects the light
In rain it sags and drips like a mop
I'll sell it for the price of
Promising to always drape it over your shoulders
And never letting Hate seep through and chill your skin
My life?
It's merely a ball of yarn
But look closely
It appears bright and yellow
Before you begin to notice
That it fades into a dull, ashy gray
If I sell it to you
Will you promise me?
To never take a pair of scissors
And cut it in half?

I ask you
To dip this ball of yarn
Into a pool of dye
Any color you like
And return this ball of yarn
To the vibrant colors it has once been
My life has crumbled into ashes
But I give you this
In hopes that yours won't as well

This is, of course, incredible. I relished every masterfully written line and the feeling of defeat that was illustrated in the poem. I will say, a million times, well done...

This is amazing!  I really enjoy how you convey yourself with being in such pain, but still having hope for the person you have all this faith in.  This is truely a beautiful poem and the way you come across is very unique!
