Writing in a school
Coloring in the lines
Marching in the rows
Assignments, expectations, necessity
In school

Writing in a school
Fitting in the box
Staying in the box
Learning only what this teacher wants
In school

Writing in a school
“Don’t procrastinate”
“One night’s not enough”
“Now write this in hour”
In School

Writing in a school
Smiling, learning
Facts, lessons, equations,
Not creative, not different
This school

And even as I type this poem
I know that I’m rebelling
And that nothing I write will ever matter
Unless it’s in Times New Roman

The origional poem has TNR font for the last line, but this site won't let me format fonts. Feel free to imagine it though!
