School is slowly killing me,
Nowhere to run, nowhere to flee.
Thrown into a deep depression
an eternal spiral, a haunting lesson.
Incessant tests, quizzes, exams
all grisly features of the gruesome program.
Binders and papers cram our knapsacks,
straining our shoulders, hurting our backs.
Sun never shines when we’re confined to our desks
working for hours, never picturesque.
Constant studying, constant working,
deep into the night, always worrying.
There was a time before my studies ravaged me,
I used to be buoyant, I used to be free.
No longer am I excited to learn,
for I know of consequences that immensely burn.
Sometimes, I dream about when this all ends,
when my broken life makes its final mends.
But I know that school will never adjourn,
so forever will I cry and mourn...
