Would you listen?
If I spoke?
If I was missing?
Would you listen?

If I fell
Would you listen?
If I slipped?
If I was screaming?
Would you listen?

If I asked?
If I lied?
Would you listen
If I cried?
Or if I died?
Would you listen?

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem because I was in one of those moods I'm in when people won't listen to me talk about my books. Nobody in my family understands, not even mom, who used to write, and I can't find real-life solace in someone just willing to lend an ear for a bit.
