Summary:

For my English final this year, I wrote a short story about a girl immigrating from Belize, and her struggles during her journey.  I added themes from the books Romeo & Juliet, To Kill a Mockingbird, and A Raisin in the Sun; all books we have read in class. I used all the elements of a short story, as well as, literary devices to make my narrative come to life. I used a lot of descriptive words to illustrate a good picture in my reader's mind. I also use a lot of personification, similes, and metaphors. I am going to inspire others by posting my story on Teenink so many people have the opportunity to read. I am also going to put the link on Instagram so all my friends can read it.  My goal is to educate readers' minds about immigration and make them more compassionate towards how hard the experience of immigration is.
