This short story made me feel a mixure of relief and a slight, creeping terror. If it were real, who would I even relate to? Not Mattie, an independant girl who is unafraid of other's opinions. It scares me to accept that I'd be most like Cecilia, who will do whatever it takes to be socially accepted. "Egg Salad Sandwiches" is a story anyone who lives in this generation can relate to.
