In Cerissa DiValentino's memoir "The No Lunch Club," she writes about being forgotten and ignored. Though a seemingly minute detail, not having lunch separated the students in her school. The people with lunch were normal, while if you didn't, you were considered weird and avoided. Though she was able to create friendships, others weren't as lucky.

Fortunately, I never had to go through what some of the no-lunch group had to. I was never avoided at such a degree. However, my opinions/ideas are sometimes ignored, specifically in my own home. My parents want me to have the life they never could have, and they do everything they can to make sure I get there. But this means putting the stuff I want to do aside, and let them control me.  Sometimes, they forget I'm my own person. Sometimes, they feel that what they want is more important than what I want. Sometimes, I am ignored as if I were part of the no-lunch club members.

But, like Cerissa, I'll push through.
