Identity: Can it be narcissistic?

I mean as far as taking one idenity and excessively taking hubris to it; embodying it like it is practically is the only thing you are.

It could be. I don't know if narcissistic is the only thing it can make you, but identity is also an excuse for not changing, or not acting a certain way.
 
For example; when I found out my personality type, I realized that it was supposedly natural/normal for me to be a shy, quiet person. So I stopped caring about talking to people (not entirely, of course). I used that identity as an excuse to not put in the effort to be more sociable (and that was stupid on my part).

Keep in mind those are generalizations at best, tendencies also change. (Take it from me, I'm practically in the middle of being an introvert and an extrovert.)
