No where did I mention anything about s.ex. I was simply stating the illogical belief that h.omophobes have that hating someone is ok if they have a different sexuality.

Question- If you did drugs (I AM NOT compareing being g.ay to doing drugs. I just need a good example.) and you were really addicted, and it ruined your life, would your family still love you? I think they would feel disappointment, not hate.

to Randomscreennamelalalala:

they'd be disappointed because of a decision you've made. being h.omosexual is not a decision.

Take being handicap for example, (not to say h.omosexuals are handicapped) a supportive family wouldn't be disappointed to have a handicapped member, in fact they would probably do all they could to make sure they felt comfortable and were able to live life happily regardless of what others would see or think.

Wait, I thought we still hadn't decided if being g.ay is a choice. Did I miss something?

Thank you An-eloquent-leaf!

As for being offended, both offend me. However people can't help their opinions, we just have to accempt those. However the way in which they are expressed is soemthing they can help. I think it's horrible to compare being gay with being addicted to drugs, just as I'm sure some people would be offended if I compared being a christian with being in a c.ult.

Random: I'm sorry but Joseph Smith was not the first to voice this opinion. The King of england had the same reaction as did many people at the time. He wasn't the only one saying that smoking tobaco was bad for you.

Random: Josph Smith was not the first to voice this opinion on tobaco. I'm sorry (You seem to love this story) But many people beleived the same, the King of England himself said it was bad for the heath. Josph was not alone, nor was he original in this opinion.

In the end, if something does not affect you or your loved ones, I see no reason as to why somebody wouldn't want g.ay marriage legalized. I know someone very close to me and ever since they were younger, it was almost obvious he was g.ay, even if he was to young to even know what that is.

wicked-souls:

I agree with you, but I'm saying that if somebody is being a REAL Christian and actually FOLLOWING the teachings of the Bible, they won't hate the h.omosexual.

So the h.omophobes you're referring to are not practicing their religion correctly, and are sinning.

I wasn't sure if you were saying that Christians hated h.omosexuals or not, which they don't.

wicked-souls: I totally agree with you. We've had the same experince.  Breece6: I disagree with you, I know LOADS of christians who ha.te g.ay people. Or, as they put it 'the act of being g.ay' how to be a 'real christian' is a different issue.

And plus, I've felt like I wanted to be gay before. I wanted to kiss my best friends and I tried to be a boy. If I came out of that mindset, why shouldn't other people be able to?

And plus, I've felt like I wanted to like the same gender before. I wanted to make out with my best friends, and I tried to be a boy. If I was able to come out of that mindset, why shouldn't other people be able to?

According to the Bible, it is a s.in. It is a s.in, just like h.ate in the heart is a s.in, lying is a s.in, p.rem.arital s.ex is a s.in, p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.i.o.n is a s.in, c.oveting and j.elousy is a sin. H.o.m.o.-se.x.u.a.l.i.t.y is a sin. The truth is that God loves you whether your g.ay or straight. But He also says that h.o.m.o.s.e.x.u.a.l.i.t.y is an a.bom.ination. If a g.ay does not r.epent of his s.in and ask for forgiveness, he will be c.ondemned by God.

That is the truth. You can reject it, or you can accept it. If you accept it, r.epent! And know that He is Lord over all.

But if you reject, you reject the word of God. Don't try to mix oil with wine, because they seperate themselves. Same with the word of God and the idea of h.o.m.o.s.e.x.u.a.l.i.t.y being 'good'.

to LandOfDarkness: Who cares if they never come out of that mindset? That is their life not yours. It is their "sins" not yours. So how does this affect you in anyway so that you feel you have to hate them?

This is from the Bible; Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. (27) In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

I do not hate g.ay people, I do believe it is wrong, men were not meant to be with men, women were not meant to be with women.

Men and women were literaly made for eachother.

But, you shouldn't hate people because of a sin. Everybody sins so hating g.ay people because they sin is stupid. You might as well hate everybody, it doesn't make sense.

Jesus was down on people condemming other's actions, people should focus on their own lives instead of telling other people they are commiting s.in. Jeus also taught that we should love one and other, and telling people they are s.inning for being who they are is not exactly loving.

People cannot help being g.ay. Although the bible may disagree with this, biology is against it. The bible isn't always correct, for example it said that rabbits chew cud, which they don't.

Personally I beleive that it is a person's soul, or inner self that is most important. Not the shape of thier bodies, the colour of their skin, what accent they have or how many tattooos they have.

Anima, there is a difference between telling someone they are sinning and hating them for sinning.
