Hi, I'm Andrea. I posted this thread to teach people about God. Well, I love God with all my heart and want to be able to share his word and love with everyone. So, please comment what questions, tips, or stories you would like me to post. Also, if anyone has anything to add to my answers, feel free to post them! Thanks! =)

Hi ANdrea, thanks for starting this thread. Do you mind if we share stories and answere questions too? Because I recently had an experience about God answering prayers. Here it is: so my older brother and I do this thing called seminary, and seminary is an early morning bible study, it's starts at 6:15 am so we have to get up at like 5:00. And a couple of weeks ago I was starting to feel really stressed. I felt like I didn't have time to do the reading for seminary AND reading on my own AND doing all of my school work AND helping my mom cook dinner (she just had surgery) AND get all the other things I needed to do in the day. So one night it was just really bugging me. And since I had always been taught to pray for help and guidance in everything I do, that's the what I did. As I said my prayers that night I prayed that I could feel more calm and less worried about things. So the next morning we were driving to seminary. Normally I would do my scripture reading in the car, but for some reason that day I decided to grab a church magazine instead called the new era. I was skimming through it at first because I was so tired, but then one page caught my eye. It was titled "De-stress" underneath it there was a simple list of all the things teens like me could do to feel less stressful. There were literally only like fifteen things and like a paragraph about putting the Lord first in everything. But as soon as I saw it I thought of the previous night and how I prayed for help. And I knew right away that God was showing himself to me, and even though it was such a simple thing, it strengthened my testimony so much. Now we all pray for different reasons and sometimes it seems like God doesn't answere us. But sometimes we're not looking at things the right way. And sometimes he doesn't answere right away, he answeres on his time when he knows it will be the most valuable to us. He knows everything and his judgments are best. My point is, that even though God doesn't always answere the way we think he should or when or how we think he should, if we are praying with sincerity and true intent, he will answere all prayers. I'm so grateful that I can feel Gods love and peace in my life and I just want everybody to feel it. Sorry for such a long comment.

Don't worry about the long comment. Your story is so miraculous! Yes, God does reveal himself in ways that we may not understand at the time. Thank you for your story! I have one that my youth leader told me. Ok, this is kind of more about the Bible and Satan so ok. My leader's name is Olivia, her family adopted a boy when she was little. So this boy, his mother hated him, she would lock him in a closet and leave to go shopping then bring him a little food. She "Claimed" to be a witch, and she even tried to run him over with a car, but it didn't work. So they took him in. When Jacob was five or six, Olivia was in the living room when she heard a noise coming from the bedroom. When she went in there, Jacob was chanting and had a black pillow case over his head. He was drawing pangorams (signs of the devil) on the wall with a mraker. Olivia tried to take the marker from him, but his grip was as firm as steel. She called for her parents and Jacob stopped drawing and had a seizure. They didn't call 911 because they realized this was a spiritual attack. Instead, they called their pastor. Olivia said Jacob had tried to burn their house down and threatened to kill them with knives. Evil's presence was strong. And now, Jacob doesn't threaten them, but he's not a CHristian. So...yeah, that's my story, or rather, Olivia's.

I have a question, Andrea...

Is it wrong, or offending to Christians, if I believe in God and pray to God and read the Bible daily if I am, in fact, not Christian? Nor if I have ever been to chapel?
I am non-religious, and I always wished I could be part of a religion. Without one, I feel as if I am missing out on some kind of community, and connection. I'd feel too simply too afraid to admit to my parents or friends that I read the Bible, just for the sake of feeling connected—connected with what, I'm not even sure of.

Is it offending? Is this childish of me?

No! Not at all. But, if u would want to accept God as your personal Savior, I would be more than willing to pray over you and help your with it. If you tell your parents, they will proabaly support it. But you don't have to. I can post some worship songs and give alittle speech so, technically, it's like going to chapel. Besides, anyone who believes in God or wants to or even doesn't, I will fully support!

Thank you, Andrea.
For now, I think I'll hold of on telling my parents. We quit (I know, harsh word) the UU Congregation in my town five years ago, and it would feel weird telling them I want to suddenly attend chapel—five years later.
When I'm older I'll be able to make my own choices without complete judgement, and hopefully, officially attending a church of some sort on my own will be one of those choices :)

I think this is really really awesome that you are doing this. Most people would be shy or afraid of sharing something like this.

I agree with Emmy, even I would have a very hard time telling my parents that in this type of situation. Listen, if you want to go to church you can. In fact, If you want to go to church and you feel like it's something that you really believe or just want to learn more about, then you SHOULD. You will find people there who are more than happy to have you and will support you 100% and if your parents don't get it at first, they will still LOVE you. And in reality, I don't know you or your family, even if your parents don't understand or it's awkward to tell them, it doesn't mean that they won't agree with you. They made their own choice to stop going to church, that's their choice not yours and I'm sure your parents won't stop you from making that choice for yourself. Whatever you do, I wish you best of luck and bravery I will be praying for you. :D
