Yes, I believe in God, more specifically Yahweh(but then we're getting into semantics). Why? Because my parents brought me up in the way I should go. Many say that's brainwash. But if my parents brainwashed us kids then why have 3 of her 5 kids turned athiest? My point exactly. There is also no reason not to believe in Yahweh. I mean people that question everything they've been taught about God, what's really the point? Wouldn't you rather at least stay with your faith on the chance there is a God? I say chance since that's what many believe. But I believe with 100% certanity that Yahweh is God and Yeshua(Jesus) is His is son and the Messiah. Not a single doubt in my mind.

Because some people are not very gullible, and in the internet age it's hard to keep your kids from figuring out whether what you're telling them is true or not.

"There is also no reason not to believe in Yahweh."

There are plenty.

"I mean people that question everything they've been taught about God, what's really the point? Wouldn't you rather at least stay with your faith on the chance there is a God?"

No, of course not. Some of us actually value the truth.

Well, I was just going to say I sort of do.

I'm an atheistic agnostic, which means I believe there could be a god, but I'm leaning to the idea that there isn't.

The reason for my logic is simply that there is no proof either way, and I certainly don't believe in the Biblical god. He is altogether too cruel for me, though that's only my opinion, I'm sure.

I believe in god, I'm just not sure if it's the Christian, Buddah, or Muslim religion or any other kind of religion. I think it all leads to the same thing, Love. So I'd say I believe in Love more than anything but I prey occasionally to a god I know not of yet. But I'm still young and can figure it out in time. ;)

I'm agnostic. I was raised christian and for a long time I believed in it, but it just dosent seem logical to me. I haven't heard any convincing evidence for a higher power. Anyone who's tried to convince me otherwise has told me that "the evidence is all around us." They say that nature couldn't have occured without some higher authority, but whyever not? How can we know?

I believe in some sort of order for all of the individuals in the world. People need a sense of sequaciousness to put their minds at ease, the belief of a higher authority is - in my opinion (no offense to anyone who is a strong believer of their religion), a defense mechanism to give them a sense of security in an otherwise bleak and unexplainable world. If the world is unexplainable, then we don't really know about it - it is unknown, and people fear the unknown, hence the sense of security people need in their lives.

I agree with @ANDREABUTTERCUP. I know there is a god, a Holy Ghost, and Jesus Christ(our savior). Of course I can see there are many things to prove evolution incorrect, and I agree with those things. But logic only works up to a certain point with the Lord. We are always asking him to show us signs and he already has, we just have to have the right eyes and ideas to look for them. Which is where the Holy Ghost comes in. Did you ever just feel an overpowering warm sense of peace and happiness, or even a slight version of that? That's the Holy Ghost telling you it's true, God helps us recognize things through the Holy Ghost,as through other means as well. I know the gospel and church is true because I read the scriptures and I prayed about them, sometimes I still pray. iand I've received those good feelings. In the bible it says ask and he shall receive. This is true, you must pray with an earnest heart and pure intentions, and God will answere those prayers. God answeres all his prayers. It might just seem like blind belief, but it is faith, and they are not quite the same thing Hebrews 11:1 says "now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." This is why I believe there is a Devine creator.

Although I agree with thisEmilyda1, I deeply respect your beliefs BabySnickers15. ThisEmilyda1, yes, God does show signs of his power and mercy. We just have to respect the time it takes and how he does it. "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. To give you hope and a future."

I respect other opinions too :). I think we all have the right to choose and we are not supposed to judge others choices. Sorry if sounded judgemental.

thisEMilyda1, Yes, everyone can make the choice to believe in God or not. But, if you aren't a Christian and don't know muc about God, you can visit my page, "Quoestions, tips, and Stories about CHristinity." I study the Bible a lot, so any questions you have, I will be happy to answer!

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't, but the truth is, I don't think I can ever follow the Bible wholly, so when I hear all these rules I become  non-believer and when I am depressed or overjoyed I suddenly know how to pray - so for now, I guess I don't know.

The question is if there is no God, why is there religion? And if you look at the laws we have today, like don't murder or steal, how would we know what is right and wrong if there wasn't something greater that told us to obey certain rules and laws? The way life is created is too complex and amazing to have just come from a random bang and microorganism sin the mud. There has to be a designer to everything.

@Nameless Wonder, if you read the bible properly, you would know that it was only in the Old Testament that the people were required to follow all of God's commands. But after Jesus died, the law was rewritten. Now all we need to do is put our faith and trust in Christ to be able to cover our sins for us. That's it. We don't have to be baptized or follow tons of rules or go to church even. We just need to trust in Jesus's grace, then we will be born again. And when you are born again, you still won't be perfect. You will never be perfect until you reach heaven, but Jesus covers that for us. It's not about a religion here; it's a relationship.
