Why is Jesus' Name Being Degraded So Much In Writing/Everything?

Nov. 29, 2016 at 12:10 am

@WordAddict
I wasn't just talking about his response to this thread. I'm talking about every rude and disrespecful response he has given me and other Christian Teeninkers. I get words are words. Okay fine. And I'm okay with people not liking me. I've received similar almost worse comments about my Christianity from peers. It will happen. I just hoped that TeenInk would be the kind of community where I can be myself and be a Christian without getting constantly mocked by a particular person. It would be nice if those blunt responses also contained a shred of respect. That's all I ask for. Is that too much to ask for?

Take courage, sister. "Blessed are you when they persecute you and insult you and utter all kinds of evil things against you falsely because of Me. Rejoice and be glad on that day, for yours is the kingdom of God."

"So by all means, correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you're saying that praying (or maybe just Christianity in general) is a waste of time."

Praying for me is definitely a waste of time, and I think praying in general probably is too. As for christianity on the whole, it's harder to say. There worse things you could be doing with your time.

"This, at least, I can agree with."

Good to know we can at least agree on something.

"I now just simply ask for you to please not talk to me EVER AGAIN or comment on anything I might post in the future relating to my beliefs."

Oops, I'm already failing.

"Everyone deserves respect no matter who they are or what they believe in."

I disagree. There are a few people in this world who really don't deserve anyone's respect.

@stuntdude
Since you continue to reply I shall continue to respond. So I ask, am I one of those people in this world that don't deserve respect?

No. There are people who have ordered the deaths of thousands, recruited armies of children, tortured for the fun of it, etc. I don't think those people deserve any respect. By comparison, what have you ever done wrong?

I just disagree in general with the notion that every person is deserving of respect, but that's tangential to this thread at best. Sorry if I made it seem otherwise.

Well when you put it that way, there are many figures in history who I can honestly say I don't have respect for. Those who have the blood of thousands on their hands, they don't even really deserve human respect, being as inhuman as they were.

Okay, so not every person deserves respect. But ppl passionate about their beliefs do deserve it. That is my point.

You're not the only person who noticed. And considering the lewd denotation of that modern F word, it's so weird some people would even put that word next to the name of Jesus Christ.
