Teenagers are inundated by expectations. Our peers expect us to be cool. Our parents expect us to be obedient. Our teachers expect us to be smart. While many of these pressures have good intentions, when they pile up and inundate individuals in overwhelming numbers, they constrict and distort the identity of many teenagers. These social pressures and expectations are represented by the hands, which are obscuring the audience's view of the girl. While the want to pleas others isn't bad, it is worthwhile to pause once in a while and assess your decisions: are you choosing to act in a certain way because you truly want to do it, or because someone else is heavily pressuring you to do it? Don't let suffocating expectations and conventions distort your identity.
