The mission of US Performing Arts Camps is to promote and develop the growth of performing artists in America.
When we founded US Performing Arts Camps our mission was to provide the very best training in the arts, both in performing arts and media. We set out to create summer programs that would give passionate and talented students the opportunity to hone their craft with the best professionals in the country while seeing and being seen at their potential future college.
Our very first partner was UCLA School of Theater Film and Television. Today we have many locations across the country presenting over 25 specialty training programs in the fields of film, television, theater, dance, and other digital media. Our mission remains the same.
US Performing Arts Camps is now considered the premier top tier summer program for training young people in the arts. Our programs are taught by the university or college departments and their professional faculty and guest professionals in their fields. We also offer programs and locations where we have partnered with top notch professional program directors. Robert Pullen, the Producing Director of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, led and mentored our entire Washington, DC staff. Mary Lou Belli, Emmy Award winning director and noted author, along with her husband actor Charlie Dougherty, directs and teaches at our programs at Stanford, Pepperdine, and UMass. We partner with USC School of Cinematic Arts Professor Peter Exline, who operates three digital film programs at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. These directors are recognized leaders of their craft and are active working professionals who have a strong passion to teach and develop talent. Our full director and faculty bios are available for each camp on the camp information page. We also have an expert section where you can read all about our talented professional faculty. For information about all of our locations you can go to the location section of our website and you will find all our current locations listed. For a quick way to identify your passion, go to the Program list to look at all the various programs we offer in the related disciplines of Film, Television, Theater, Musical, Theater, Dance, and Digital Media. You will find every camp offered and the location.
US Performing Arts Camps are designed as conservatory style programs that encourage students to work collaboratively in achieving high goals. Some programs are one week long, others are two weeks duration and we have a three week Musical Theater Conservatory program at UCLA. Many students spend a summer attending more than one program and visit more than one campus where US Performing Arts Camps are offered. For the colleges and universities who run the programs they have become recruiting tools that help them select top talented young people they would like to invite to attend their school. For the student, the programs are an opportunity to experience a college campus, grow and develop as a person, and improve their skill level in the arts while making friends and having a lot of fun. Be sure to view our many videos of our various programs and locations and take a look at the videos of the parents and students testimonials.
We hope you will enjoy spending some time on US Performing Arts Camps website reading about all of our summer programs and please don’t hesitate to call our office with any questions you have. Our office staff is available to assist you in selecting the right summer program for your talent and passion... one that will be sure to improve on your talent and give you a summer of fun to remember for a life time.
