About Experience America: The Game Experience

This 3 week summer program is hosted at the University of Washington in Seattle. Students will live in the university dorms and attend class on campus instructed by professional game developers from Seattle's thriving Video Game industry.

This program provides students with a hands-on approach to game development, covering a wide range of key concepts and strategies for breaking into the industry. Led by our experienced instructors, classes will cover the full life-cycle of game creation, from conceptualization to implementation. Don’t just play games. Be a game-changer. Students will be provided with professional instruction, learning each of the six essential skills required for success in the industry: Animation, Art, Programming, Design, Sound Engineering, and Business Management.

Company Tours
Visit major companies such as Microsoft, Monolith, Valve, ArenaNet, Pop Cap, Zombie, and Big Fish. Students are not only provided with private, behind-the-scenes tours of these major studios, but they also seem to always come back with crazy amounts of company swag.

Industry Speakers
In addition to their regular classes, students will have the opportunity to learn about the gaming industry from our various guest lecturers. How are games marketed and monetized? How do audio technicians capture sound? What’s the best way to break into the industry? Ask the professionals: get answers and insight. Get inspired.

Cultural and Leisure Activities
We provide our students with an incredible variety of sight-seeing attractions, tours, and once in a life-time experiences throughout the city. We've taken care of everything, providing students with accommodation at the university residences, private transportation, sight-seeing adventures and activities, three meals each day, personal smart phones, health insurance, and a welcoming team of full time hosts. So pack your bags and get ready for the ultimate Game Experience!
