Information about Augustana Summer Academy

At Augustana College, learning does not take a break for the summer; rather, it becomes even more enriching and individualized. Many of our continuing students will be engaged in research alongside faculty members. In addition, we offer a wide variety of learning opportunities for students of all ages.

During the day students will be involved in hands-on, experiential learning. At night they will stay in Swanson Hall, our newest residence. Each evening they’ll gather for a variety of activities. Our Summer Academy camp will create a village of curious students who want to push their knowledge to a higher level... and have fun!

I attended both the Human Cadaver program and the Harry Potter 7 Part II program, and they were both wonderful! The human cadaver program offered a unique experience which the normal high school student would never receive, and it prompted me to look into that field! I would definitely go again, but this year I'm off to college! The harry potter camp was great (though a much smaller amount of members) and I made friendships with fellow potterheads. It was awesome :)

I went to the Mid-River Fiction workshop. It was so much fun to write my own creative short story. I had a great time and the feedback was really helpful for my writing. The campus at Augustana is also so beautiful and the dorms we stayed in were really nice. I also made really good friends, better than I've made at any camp before even though it was only a week! It was a fantastic experience and I recommend it to anyone.

I attended the True Life: A Day in the Life of a Speech-Language Pathologist last year and it was AMAZING! If you are considering going into the field at all, I would totally recommend you try it. It really confirmed my decision to be a Speech Path and we had so much fun! The group became so close over the week and have still kept in touch every once in a while. The evening activities were fun and the food was pretty good too! I have been to a lot of college program, but this one really surprise... (more »)
