Imagine this you walk onto a train and you hear “Welcome to Black Mesa Research Facility.” If you can't guess I will be talking about the half life series. The three main points I will be talking about today is Half life’s lore, how it runs, and What I think of it.

In Half life 1 you play as a researcher in the Black Mesa research facility named “Gordon Freeman”. In the story there is a odd man little is known about him and the community named “The Gman” sabbaths the testing and causes a residents cascade causes creatures from the borderworld Xen creatures such as Vortigaunt, the classic Headcrab, and of course the combine or “Universal Union”. Your goal is to escape the facility before the US military nuclearly detonate the facility. In Half life 2 16 years after Half life 1 “The Gman” wakes you up to a world completely dictated by the “Universal Union”. The way this all started was the after the detonation of Black Mesa the Combine took notice of Earth and set their sights for it and came through the Xen portals this would cause the “7 Hour War”. This where the Combine or Universal Union at this point took over earth in 7 hours and killed off 54 percent of the populace of earth and the rest are forced to 1 percent of the earth's land mass also they drained the oceans and forced citizens into cities like City 17 the headquarters of the combine and earth's ambassador Wallace Breen I have thought to put one part of one of breen’s speeches in here

“Let me read a letter I recently received. 'Dear Dr. Breen. Why has the Combine seen fit to suppress our reproductive cycle? Sincerely, A Concerned Citizen.” this is hinting to that humans could no longer reproduce.
In Half life 2 Episode 1 you have taken down the citadel the combines way onto earth and your goal is to escape the city before the citadel’s black energy core detonates. In Half life 2 Episode 2 the main citadel on earth has collapsed and caused the combine to scramble their troops into a large mass and attempt to take back earth from the resistance to do this the combine attempted to create a super portal.

Now I will be talking about how it runs is FPS is rather smooth on my computer even though it is from 2007 I get about 20-40 FPS on all games. It is ran on the source engine and that was made after Gabe Newell bought steam. The graphics are very well made considering how old the games are considering half life 2 was made in 2004.
Now I will talk about what I think. This series is very well rounded Gabe Newell and his creation team at Valve did a very good job at making this series. But there are some downfalls like I would have liked alternative endings on Episode 2 like if you don't shut down the portal it shows a different ending. However you should play it yourself if you want to decide for yourself.

So today I talked about the half life series lore how it runs and what I think. So imagine this again walking into a train and hearing “Welcome to Black Mesa Research Facility”

So that is what I have to say about the half life series.
