Legend of the Seeker

Many people have heard of the tv series Legend of the Seeker. For those who don't know, Legend of the Seeker is about Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), a woods guide from Westland and his battle for justice as the Seeker of Truth. The world in this show is split in to three main lands, separated by magic boundaries. Westland, a world with no magic, is right of The Midlands. The Midlands are in the middle, hence the name, and are full of magic. The only difference beteen them and D'hara (the third land) is that the Midlands are governed fairly by the Mother Confessor and D'hara is ruled by the evil Lord Rahl.

When the boundary between D'hara and the Midlands is destroyed, it's up to Confessor Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan) to find the First Wizard and The Seeker of Truth. First Wizard Zeddicus Zul Zorandor "Zedd" (Bruce Spence) is living in the seclusion of Westland, and keeping an eye on the unsuspecting Richard Cypher.
When Kahlan breaches the boundary, she is followed by Lord Darken Rahl's soldiers and runs into Richard, who saves her. Zedd names Richard the Seeker and gives him the Sword of Truth. As Richard develops feelings for Kahlan, they return to the Midlands and begin their battle against Rahl.

The Second Season, now also called the Final Season, is the quest to find the Stone of Tears. When they destroyed Rahl, they unintenitionally created a tear in the veil between the land of the living and the Underworld. To keep the Keeper of the Underworld from waging war on the living, they must find the legendary Stone of Tears.

Athough stated in the opening credits, many do not know it is based upon a series of books called The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind. The first season took the main idea of Wizards First Rule, name the Seeker and defeat Darken Rahl, and made their own 48 minute adventures. The second season is also only vaguely related to its book, Stone of Tears. There are a total of twelve books in the series:
Wizards First Rule
The Stone of Tears
Blood of the Fold
Temple of the Winds
Soul of the Fire
Faith of the Fallen
Pillars of Creation
Naked Empire
Debt of Bones
Chainfire
Phantom
Confessor
I would recommend the tv series to anyone who likes action and romance.
